From the Album Release party 11.5.2013 at the Sellersville Theatre! So proud of HogMaw and Dom Flemons and to be part of that team! It’s a great record, sounds wonderful on vinyl! I love it!
There are stories, and there are stories. This one’s a good one. Friends in the business Jay Levin, and Jim Salamone, kicked in a few loaner mics and some great advise! Pulled it off right here. Lots of it live and some of it an epic work of editing. But, a journey with the leadership of none-other than Dom Flemons, American Songster. I can only hope we do more work together! He’s like a living history book and certainly a brilliant musical mind! Hogmaw ‘s musicianship shined and the Proof is in the Ideal..
I don’t always f**k with spiders, but when I do, it’s because these Little Spiders Have Big Dreams in the music business. I was hanging around the Steel City Coffeehouse in Phoenixville, PA and got caught up in a groovy web of talented musicians, playing their dreams on stage. The “webmaster” and spinner of musical dreams is none other than Ernie Tokay of the local folk rock band The Turnips, also the owner, producer, and engineer of Little Spiders Have Big Dreams Studio in Kimberton, PA. Ernie has just released an album (available on CDBaby) with samples from the various artists that are recording at his studio. One of the artists featured on this sample set with their song “Runaway” is thundergrass band, HogMaw, whose album Wake was released last summer.

Homesteady was produced by the amazing Kevin Killen! This is a really great record. Although I’ve produced a few songs with Tin Bird, we have an additional tracking credit on this one! This is really one of my favorite bands! Both to listen to and to work with!

When I first met Sarah, it was through a mutual friend and beer brewing buddies, Buzze and Lisa. We spoke a bit about music, and became friends. The Turnips had been in production for their first record and it was nearly completed. Intending to save the high harmony tracks for our dear friend, and original Turnip Cathy Keating now living in NoCal. Cathy wasn’t quite able to get out early on, so being the prudent Turnips that we are, went in search of people who could track those harmonies for us. Sarah volunteered and cut all the harmonies in two and a half hours. Quite a feat. We’ve been gigging and record ing with Sarah ever since! And now here she is, with her own record of her original music. It’s great stuff and it was a real pleasure to work with her on this!
